The Senate of the University of Białystok, by resolution no. 3384 of 29 May 2024, awarded Prof. Robert Ian Frost the title of Doctor Honoris Causa, and the honoured person’s merits were put in the following words, appearing on the diploma: “For completely original studies on the history of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, which constitute an innovative attempt to understand the heritage of the Polish-Lithuanian union, the shared history of Poles, Lithuanians, Belarusians and Ukrainians”. This volume is a tribute to Prof. Frost’s scholarly output, for his contribution to the development of research into the history of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, as well as for the popularisation of Poland’s historical heritage on the international arena.
